Safeguarding information is regularly provided to all early years professionals reflecting current legislation, guidance and good practice. As a provider you have a critical part to play in safeguarding children and young people

EYFS Safeguarding and Welfare requirements

Providers must take all necessary steps to keep children safe and well. The requirements in this section explain what early years providers must do to: safeguard children; ensure the suitability of adults who have contact with children; promote good health; manage behaviour; and maintain records, policies and procedures.

Working together to Safeguard Children 2018

  • protecting children from maltreatment;
  • preventing impairment of children's health or development;
  • ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care; and
  • taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes

What to do if you’re worried a child is being abused: advice for practitioners

This advice has been produced to help practitioners identify child abuse and neglect and take appropriate action in response. It is for anyone whose work brings them into contact with children and families.
